Asda, Accrington Fund Raise for NELDA

North East Lancashire Dyslexia Association wish to thank the Accrington branch of Asda for their promise to support our charity by fund-raising for the next three months.

Many families are affected by at least one family member with dyslexia and the misery caused to adults and children can be life-long. Unless, that is, their difficulties are recognised at an early stage. At least 1 person in 10 is affected and may never reach their potential unless the handicap is recognised early.

Dyslexia affects all members of our society regardless of status, background, wealth and intelligence. Princess Beatrice, Einstein and Richard Branson are examples of the diverse nature of dyslexia.

At present our main goal is to see that the age at which children with dyslexia can be recognised is at the most ideal point before failure sets in.

Well done Asda! We hope that all of our members will support your efforts in reaching our goal.

Frances Mercer, Chairman, MA, Post Grad. Diploma (Dyslexia), Cert. Ed.
