Congratulations

to Sam Orr, age 16 and one of our members who has been with us since the age of 9.

Following a lengthy application process and success in his exams, Sam went on to join British Aerospace in September this year as an engineering apprentice. Over the  years, Sam has taken part in the Touch, Type, Read and Spell programme run by NELDA  which has helped him through the academic process to achieve his potential, especially in Literacy.

This year, as part of his Duke of Edinburgh Bronze award, he also carried out some voluntary work for NELDA. In his spare time, Sam plays rugby for Blackburn and is part of the most successful youth team in Blackburn’s history as they have won the Lancashire Plate  3 times. We wish Sam every success with his career in the future.
